Barry has practiced a wide variety of self defence and martial arts forms throughout his military and civilian life. After attaining a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, Barry decided to move to a reality based system and found Wing Chun to be the perfect fit.
After studying briefly with WCI and the infamous Master Wong (long distance learning), Barry met Si Gung Nik Gourgounidis and was taught traditional Wing Chun. Barry also trained in Shandong, China under Sifu Wang Meng.
Les Kemmett (Sihing)
Les has been training with WCSD since October 2015 and is proficient at the first two empty hand forms (Sil Lim Tao and Chum Kiu) and the Wooden Dummy Form.
Les has a background in Karate where he was a student for around 35 years.
Despite being on of our oldest club members Les is arguably the fittest and can often be seen cycling up to 100 miles several times each week.
Dean Morgan (Sihing)
Dean has been training with WCSD since early 2015 and is proficient at the first two empty hand forms (Sil Lim Tao and Chum Kiu)
When the club moved from Banbury to Chipping Norton, Dean was the club's first student and is without doubt one of the most committed club members, providing support, tools and a can do attitude.
Dean started training Wing Chun as a young boy but didn't pursue the art. After re-discovering his passion for Wing Chun in early 2015 Dean has progressed well.
Dean has crafted his own wooden dummy in addition to specific training tools used in the club.
